The hike is led by Urban Hike founder & Charlottean, Drew Thrasher, & sponsored by
Charlotte outfitter, Jesse Brown’s.
Planning the event started as a hobby but has quickly become a community phenomenon.
Thrasher describes it as “a grass-roots initiative that started as a loosely-organized gathering of neighborhood friends, but has grown each year to include others from across the area.”
The goal? To get folks outside & exploring parts of
Charlotte that we don’t see due to our busy lives.
Thrasher continues, “The end result blends exercise, local history, neighborhood connections, fellowship and more!”
Many people need encouragement to do an escape, an adventure, or a
hike & Jesse Brown’s, as a local business, thinks that starting where you live helps people join into the initiative that Thrasher started.
