Outdoor write Jack Horan, and JB’s Bill Bartee have some great guests this weekend on the Carolina Outdoors radio show on Charlotte’s WBT 1110AM!
Up first is Crystal Cockman, associate director of the The LandTrust for Central North Carolina, based in Salisbury. The organization is working to reconnect the Uwharrie Trail by acquiring parcels of land to bridge segments of the Uwharrie National Forest. Crystal helped establish the audio tour along the trail, which was put into place by Boy Scout Chris Moncrief of Monroe. There’s a description and photo on www.landtrustcnc.org
The second guest is television host, Carl White of “Life in the Carolinas” (11 a.m. Sunday, on WJZY Channel 46). The topic is the phenomenon of the Brown Mountain Lights in the Wilson Creek & Linville Gorge area of NC, near Morganton. White features scientists, paranormal specialists, professors & photographers that speak on the mysterious lore of the lights. The area and the mystery have been featured in song, tales & used as a catalyst for movies and television.
