Mark Gasior won the Rocky River Trout Unlimited Award at the March Fly Fishing Film Tour 2012 brought by Jesse Brown’s held at the Visultie Theater.
The rod, named Mountain Magic by Gasior, was built by RRTU member & avid bamboo rod maker, Gary Jones. Jones works out of his shop in Sherrill’s Ford building some of the nicest bamboo rods around.
The bamboo rod takes over 60 hours to make. Mountain Magic’s customization came after a meeting between Gasior and Jones. The 7 1/2 ft. 5 wt will mainly be fishing the headwaters of the Mitchell River at Devotion.
Thanks for Jones for his support of RRTU and congratulations to Gasior for the win.
