Donation Items toward Relief for Western North Carolina

The devastating effects from Helene’s wrath into western North Carolina continues to evolve.  First, the loss of life, property, power, & mobility created many issues for the people that live in the hills, valleys, and ridges in this beautiful part of the world.

As an outdoor and adventure store that utilizes western North Carolina for its hospitality, trails, and fly fishing stream, Jesse Brown’s, wanted to provide aid where it would be immediately used.
The upcoming winter season & the able distribution of disaster recovery & faith teams enabled us to act as a collection point for needed items.

As winter approaches in Western North Carolina, several items become essential for both individuals and communities. Here are some of the most needed items:

  1. Warm Clothing: Coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and thermal layers are crucial for staying warm.
  2. Blankets and Sleeping Bags: These are important for those in need of extra warmth, especially for those experiencing homelessness.
  3. Heating Supplies: Firewood, space heaters, and blankets can help those without adequate heating in their homes.
  4. Personal Care Items: Hygiene products, especially for low-income families, are always in demand.
  5. Pet Supplies: Blankets, food, and warm bedding for pets can also be essential during colder months.

Local shelters, food banks, and community organizations often have specific needs, so reaching out to them can provide more targeted assistance.

Plus, our friends at Renfrow’s Hardware in Matthews, NC, are taking in lightly used tools such as:  shovels, wrecking bars, rakes, bow saws, axes, pitch forks, sledge hammers,
