Boating in the Carolinas – Part One

As summer continues in the Carolinas, Charles Jenkin joins the Carolina Outdoors to discuss boating and safety tips. Learn about boating laws, tips, and the biggest cause of boating accidents. Charles also shares about his work as a Certified Travel Consultant for the state of North Carolina and their welcome centers and rest areas.

What to Know:

  • Charles Jenkin is a former staple of WBT Radio. He spent years as a producer and as the host of his own show, This Show Is Cookin’.
  • The majority of boating accidents are attributed to alcohol.
  • Did you know that the same alcohol-related rules apply for driving cars and boats? Be careful that you’re not drinking & driving on the boat.
  • The water, sun, and motion magnify the affects of alcohol compared to when on land. Keep this in mind while you’re enjoying the lake or ocean this summer.
  • Never bring the boat back into the dock any faster than you would care to hit the dock!
