WBT Charlotte Radio Changes

WBT Radio, home to the Carolina Outdoors radio show sponsored by Jesse Brown’s, is part of a frequency switcheroo along with several other Charlotte radio stations.

WBT, currently found on 99.3 FM, will now be found on 107.9 FM, a much stronger 100,000-watt frequency that will provide a bigger megaphone for the Carolina Outdoors, among other shows.

More detailed plans include:

  • Transfer WBT’s programming to 107.9 FM, currently occupied by Mix 107.9 “The Link”
  • Shift programming of current station 107.9 FM “The Link” to 100.9 FM (to be known as WLNK) and 99.3 FM (to be known as WMXG).
  • Shift programming of current gospel station 100.9 (WPZS) to 102.5 FM and 610 AM.
  • The hip-hop programming currently on 102.5 FM “will be exiting the market.”

These changes will take effect on Thursday, December 11th. Plans were filed by Radio One, which owns several Charlotte radio stations.
