Storyteller’s Night at Jesse Brown’s
Storyteller’s Night at Jesse Brown’s has been bringing the Charlotte community together for over a decade. Jesse Brown’s, an outdoor store located in the SouthPark area of Charlotte, North Carolina, this event celebrates true tales of adventure, personal experiences, and life-changing moments.
The origins of Storyteller’s Night is rooted in Jesse Brown’s commitment to the outdoor community. For more than fifty-five years, the store has been a hub for outdoor enthusiasts, providing gear, apparel, and a space for sharing stories. This culture of sharing inspired the creation of an event where individuals could come together to narrate and listen to captivating stories from fellow community members.
Storyteller’s Night is engaging and intimate. Typically, the event features three storytellers, each allotted twenty minutes to share their unique narratives. The topics vary widely, encompassing thrilling adventures, profound personal experiences, and transformative life events. This diversity ensures that each event offers fresh and compelling content, keeping the audience eagerly anticipating the next story.
On the evening of the event, the outdoor showroom undergoes a metamorphosis. Clothing racks featuring brands like Patagonia and Free Fly are moved aside, a stage is built in the center of the store, & seating is arranged. Also, microphones are tested to ensure that every word reaches the eager ears of the audience.
The event has become a staple in Charlotte’s cultural scene, with multiple sessions held throughout the year. Events can often be found on Jesse Brown’s social media like Instagram, where they share updates and highlights to keep the community informed and engaged.
