I floated the Watauga yesterday with Jesse Brown’s very own Fitz E. We had a great float through the trophy section. The weather stayed pretty nice with the occasional summer downpour but that gave us a perfect excuse to anchor down under a bridge and eat lunch. Fishing was pretty good most of the day with most of the trout being caught on black zebra midges, beetles and after our afternoon showers San Juan worms did the trick. Towards the end of our float we found the honey hole catching about a half dozen fish in about 30 minutes including this monster of a Watauga brown trout. This fish measured in at 20″ even and fought like you would expect a large wild trout should. Give us a call and ask for me if you’d like to book a trip. -Wilson
