Landsford Canal State Park is the home to the world’s largest bloom of this rare, endangered plant.
Jesse Brown’s outfits for these easy, meandering hikes on this historic property with footwear, binoculars & sunglasses.
This is an outstanding year for viewing the majestic flowers that grow in the free-flowing Catawba River’s shallow rocks.
Sunday, May 23rd, Bill Bartee of Jesse Brown’s & Family went out for picnic.
We did the Canal Trail (1.5 easy hike) along the 19th Century Canal to the viewing platform.
Then returned via the River Trail (.8 mile) where we got to see the Eagle’s Nest. No eagles, they must have been fishing.
Pets (on leashes), jogging strollers, kayakers & tubers are all here so don’t be intimidated by this nature outing. It’s fun.
$2 per adult.
