The PGA Tour returns to Charlotte, May 3rd-9th, with the Wells Fargo Championship being held in its usual spot, the Quail Hollow Country Club. Quail Hollow offers a beautiful backdrop of our city during the spring and is conveniently located near Charlotte’s local, specialty outfitter, Jesse Brown’s.
But what about the dress code for this year’s tournament?
The PGA Tour Handbook has always required players to “…present a neat appearance in both clothing and personal grooming.” Pants such as the Gold School Chino or the Harbor Performance Pant, both from Duck Head, here at Jesse Brown’s are a classic choice, but the unwritten rule of “no shorts” leaves out the fantastic selection of the versatile Harbor Performance Short for the players.
Don’t worry, however; spectators are treated differently. Hiking shorts, walking shorts, and travel pants from Jesse Brown’s are all qualifiers and their active performance style makes them easy to wear. And this DOES include the Harbor Performance Short. These shorts are especially comfortable to wear when sitting down in a camp chair along the course watching the match!
The one place for spectators which has no room for compromise: masks. They are required at all PGA Tour tournaments at all times* while both indoors and outdoors.
Spectators are invited to visit Jesse Brown’s for any questions or last minute purchases of sun hats, camp chairs, sunglasses, sun shirts, and yes, even face coverings.
*exceptions of mask requirements include: medical conditions that make wearing a mask difficult; children under the age of 2; and while eating and drinking in appropriate areas of tournament.
