California’s Tesla Motor Company has been getting a lot of hype as the car of the future. Why? Instead of low emmissions the new Roadster has “no” emmssions. It operates on a carbon frame with a battery system comparable to 700 cell phone batteries. The engine….only 150 lbs.
Don Yager and I go over to WBT studios weekly to do the Carolina Outdoor program, I often think about how the world’s focus on technology has changed.
Of course, hiking is still hiking; fishing is still fishing & adventure is still adventure. This hasn’t changed.
However, the technology that decides how heavy are the boots we wear, or what material our fly rod is made of, or the lack of restrictions in where we can travel for adventure (local to around the world, quickly) is evolving quickly.
Driving a car is still driving a car. But, an electric car that goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, has zero tail pipe emmissions & travels 245 miles before it needs a recharge; maybe the future of driving.
For only $120,000 you can find out.
