The tournament drew some of the top competitors in the southeast, including members of Team USA and Team NC.
After two rounds of fishing, our Team Stonefly member, Jason Buffkin ended up in a sudden death fish off with Team USA’s Josh Stephens. Both had to sprint to their beat, with the first one to hook and land a fish declared the winner. Stephens hooked and landed a fish in 58 seconds…a truly amazing feat.
Michael Yelton from our team took 5th, and Paul Thompson took 6th.

On a related note, the second tournament in the southeast this year, the Olympiad Fly Masters, will be held in Lake Lure, NC on April 24th and 25th. Anyone can enter!
Finally, Stonefly will be competing in the America Cup in Frisco, Colorado this September. This is the premiere international fly fishing tournament in the US, with teams from Europe, Japan, and Australia attending.
Congrats from Jesse Brown’s to our busy Team Stonefly.
